Najee is on a 1-year, incentive-laden deal and Hampton is the biggest RB investment the new regime has made. I’d guess it’ll narrowly favor Hampton but in any given week they ride the hot hand. The closest situation would be a more talented version of Melvin Gordon & Javonte Williams in Denver back in 2021.
I tend to agree. You don’t go get Hampton at 20 after signing Najee unless he was very high on their boards and they felt fortunate he was still available to them. Excited to see what Hampton can produce in that offense
Great perspective. Through round one, can you give an overall fantasy grade for the landing spots for all of these players?
Strictly from a fantasy perspective I’ve got these guys graded at:
Cam Ward: A
It was a forgone conclusion and he can elevate this offense.
Travis Hunter: B+
Said to be a WR first but is not likely to usurp BTJr in touches.
Ashton Jeanty: A-
Immediately becomes focal point of offense, he and Bowers are 1A-1B.
Tetairoa McMillan: A
Not much competition for McMillan with a budding Bryce Young.
Colston Loveland: B-
Optimistic about usage with Ben Johnson but a lot of mouths to feed.
Tyler Warren: B+
Quarterback’s best friend, whichever one it ends up being.
Emeka Egbuka: C
Good for Baker but tough for Egbuka to be anything more than WR-3 for next couple years.
Omarion Hampton: B
Running back in a Harbaugh offense is a great thing but will split duties with Najee Harris.
Matthew Golden: C+
I don’t fully buy into the first round buzz and in Green Bay does he really become the WR-1?
Jaxson Dart: A-
Great pick for Dart to sit behind Russell Wilson for some/all of rookie season and gets to throw to Malik Nabers!
Quick reaction - if you had to predict RB touches in LA, what’s the split?
