Chardee MacDynasty - Volume II
Chew shares a few dynasty risers from Week 18 and some names to watch in CFB semi finals. To the game of games!
You made it back for another installment of Chardee MacDynasty! Since we last spoke there has been a week of NFL backups coupled with NFL hopefuls via the college football playoffs.
What does this all mean for dynasty? And when will there be some dynasty trades already?! Cool your jets. I will cover both and don’t forget to make it to the end of the article for the answer to last week’s “Which NFL-er”, as well as a new trio of clues.
And if you find this even mildly enjoyable consider subscribing. Do it now, shake my hand!
Week 18 In The NFL
There is a good reason why it is commonplace to have fantasy football championships on the second to last week of the NFL season. Many players are either resting for the playoffs or the next season. While other players are battling to hold onto a playoff spot.
Here are six players that boosted their dynasty value from Week 18 and a trio of dynasty trades for each. With trades consisting of 1) picks; 2) players; and 3) both; with the latter mixing both picks and players. Players selected are those that have traditionally been non-starters throughout the season.
*Dynasty trades from Dynasty Daddy. The side of each trade that I would take is in bold.
Joe Milton III
There was no real expectation of Milton (sixth round) taking the starting quarterback gig after the Patriots drafted Drake Maye with the third pick. But in the preseason Milton flashed with his two calling cards: mobility and arm strength. To end his rookie season Milton got the start and had a stellar outing, which unfortunately bumped the Patriots down from the first pick to the fourth pick in the 2025 NFL draft. The good thing is the Patriots don’t need a starting quarterback (Maye) and it looks like they don’t need a new backup either (Milton).
Trade #1: Joe Milton III ←→ ‘25 5th Rd Pick
Trade #2: Joe Milton III ←→ Grant Calcaterra
Trade #3: Joe Milton III + ‘25 4th Rd Pick ←→ Jameis Winston
Miles Sanders
Sanders parlayed a career season in Philadelphia into a contract in Carolina that has not quite panned out. Fellow Panther Chuba Hubbard overtook Sanders as the starter and didn’t look back, with the latter getting himself a payday. Despite his lackluster performance since joining the Panthers, Sanders burst back onto the scene in Week 18 with 100+ scrimmage yards and two TD’s. While Sanders’ time may be over in Carolina (barring a contract restructure) he has an opportunity to reinvigorate his career in 2025.
Trade #1: Miles Sanders ←→ ‘26 4th Rd Pick
Trade #2: Miles Sanders ←→ Ameer Abdullah
Trade #3: Miles Sanders + ‘25 1st Rd Pick ←→ Josh Jacobs
Khalil Herbert
Herbert joined the Bengals during 2024 after falling out of favor in Chicago. Since joining the Bengals, Herbert’s first opportunity to get meaningful touches and that came after a Chase Brown injury. While the Bengals did not make it to the playoffs, Herbert put together a good display as he enters free agency. Despite an influx of rookie running backs, Herbert still has an opportunity to join a committee backfield as a dependable runner with home run speed.
Trade #1: Khalil Herbert ←→ ‘26 4th Rd Pick
Trade #2: Tyrone Tracy + Josh Downs ←→ Khalil Herbert + Tank Dell
Trade #3: Khalil Herbert + ‘25 2nd Rd Pick + ‘25 3rd Rd Pick ←→ Najee Harris
Kayshon Boutte
Boutte had himself a day in Week 18 alongside fellow sixth round pick Joe Milton III. And while it was an overall underwhelming offense in 2024, Boutte would be the second-most productive wide receiver on the Patriots roster in 2025 from 2024. Look for New England to add pass catchers but Boutte has earned himself a role after his cohesion with Maye.
Trade #1: Kayshon Boutte ←→ ‘26 3rd Rd Pick
Trade #2: Kayshon Boutte + Dallas Goedert ←→ Evan Engram
Trade #3: Kayshon Boutte + ‘26 2nd Rd Pick ←→ Aaron Jones
Jordan Whittington
Whittington ends his rookie season with a bang after being drafted in the sixth round. There are clear starters ahead of Whittington in Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp; however, fellow depth receivers Demarcus Robinson and Tutu Atwell are slated to be free agents. The dynasty community is familiar with Whittington after his booming preseason and I am picking up Whittington everywhere I can.
Trade #1: Jordan Whittington ←→ ‘25 3rd Rd Pick
Trade #2: Jordan Whittington + Chris Godwin ←→ Josh Downs + Antonio Gibson
Trade #3: Jordan Whittington + ‘25 1st Rd Pick ←→ Cooper Kupp + Marquez Valdes-Scantling
A.J. Barner
While he’s no Brock Bowers, Barner finished with only one fewer TD than the Raiders’ record breaking rookie. And despite playing behind veteran Noah Fant, Barner was not far behind him in overall receiving production. With Seattle letting their offensive coordinator go and Fant’s contract full of potential cap savings, Barner could be in line for an uptick in involvement and, ultimately, fantasy points.
Trade #1: A.J. Barner ←→ ‘26 3rd Rd Pick
Trade #2: A.J. Barner + Chig Okonkwo + ‘25 4th Rd Pick ←→ Tucker Kraft
Trade #3: A.J. Barner + ‘25 3rd Rd Pick ←→ Marvin Mims Jr.
